Guy proposes to girlfriend. Drops ring in gutter. New York Police tracks him down and saves the day

This guy mistakenly dropped the ring in a gutter while proposing to his girlfriend.

Nothing can come in between of you and your happiness when your love is true. And what happened to this couple in New York just proved it.

A man proposing to his girlfriend at the famous Times Square in New York was in for a rude shock when the ring slipped from his finger accidentally and fell into the gutter right below his feet.

The man tried a little bit to extract the ring out of the gutter but unfortunately couldn’t, so the upset couple just went their way and forgot about the ring.

The entire scene was captured in a CCTV footage by a camera installed nearby. The New York Police Department aka NYPD got hold of that video and immediately got into action. They extracted the ring out of the gutter and then began the real challenge.

They posted the video on their Twitter page and asked people to recognize the couple if they could, because the couple had not filed any request with the police.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. 4 reasons to never skip it

Breakfast Is The Most Important Meal,Breakfast,Benefits Of Breakfast

Know someone who’s the first one to get on a fad diet? Whether it is intermittent fasting, low carb, high fat, and no carbs at night – you name it and they are the first ones to try it. Well, that person is me.

I feel like I have been on this perennial quest to find out what’s healthy eating really like? With exercise, it is pretty easy. Workout, burn calories and follow a routine that you love. But with food and nutrition, there are way too many options, aspects to consider and obviously not enough clinical evidence of what works.

But if there’s one thing that I’ve realised (after many mistakes) is that breakfast is the indeed the most important meal of the day. You may hear of people who like to skip it or people who can survive on a bowl of fruits, but an ideal breakfast is a lot more than that. When you skip breakfast a number of things happen to your body.

Low energy

Skipping breakfast may work for you for a day, but it is not a sustainable choice. A good breakfast gives you that much needed fuel to function through the day. By skipping it, you’ll likely suffer from a drop in energy – if not on day 1, but definitely by day 7.

Weight

For people following intermittent fasting for weight loss, skipping breakfast helps to maintain their fasting window without compromising on an evening out. But according to a study, when you skip breakfast you’re low on energy and are more likely to crave for fatty foods and crave sugar.

Mood swings

Hangry is indeed a real condition. Opting to not eat breakfast can make you irritable. And if you pick coffee over breakfast to remedy that, you’ll end up with a caffeine high. But once it comes down, you’ll again experience moodiness.

Metabolism

Skipping breakfast can lead to slower metabolism. According to a study, skipping breakfast can increase inflammation. In fact, skipping breakfast or dinner can both have adverse effects.

Smartphone Users in India Consuming 1GB Data a Day on Average: Nielsen

Smartphone Users in India Consuming 1GB Data a Day on Average: Nielsen

Smartphone users in India are consuming an average 1GB data per day – from an average 4GB a month not long ago – and spending more than 90 minutes on online activities daily across the entry-level, mid-range and premium segments, a Nielsen India report said on Thursday. Additionally, the report said the average selling price of mobile phones is rising too thanks to growing demand for affordable smartphones.

India has emerged among the most preferred smartphone markets in the world owing to affordable handset prices and low-cost data penetration, triggering a huge replacement demand among the customers across segments, the Nielsen Smartphone 2018 report added.

“The advent of high-speed 4G Internet, less-expensive mobile handsets and a correction in call data charges have encouraged the speedy adoption of smartphones in India,” said Abhijit Matkar, Director-Technology IPG – Nielsen India.

To meet the demand of the mass market, new Chinese and Indian handset makers have launched affordable handsets which are under Rs. 5,000.

“This sudden influx of affordable smartphones created a whole segment of new consumers who either upgraded from feature phones or were new mobile users altogether,” Matkar said in a statement.

When it comes to app usage, chat and VoIP apps dominate usage across customer segment followed by browser apps.

Interestingly, uTorrent Beta app dominates across categories when it comes of consumption of data, followed by YouTube across customer segments, the findings showed.

The smartphone users spend more than 90 minutes a day on online activities while the premium segment takes the usage up to 130 minutes per day.

“The price of handsets and data is emerging as a remarkable surrogate for monitoring the ever-widening set of users and their smartphone usage, thereby facilitating business and marketing strategy for better return on investment (ROI)”, Matkar added.

Despite the availability of economically-priced smartphones, average smartphone prices are still increasing.

“In fact, the average cost has steadily risen from about Rs. 7,700 in 2015 to about Rs. 10,000 in 2017,” said the report.

The appetite for data consumption has risen over the last 15 to 18 months. The highest engagement occurs on apps that consume a lot of data like Facebook, WhatsApp Messenger, Instagram, and Google Chrome, the report added.

Netflix Indian Original Series Selection Day Gets December Release Date

Netflix Indian Original Series Selection Day Gets December Release Date

Netflix’s next original series from India, Selection Day, now has a release date: December 28. Based on Indo-Australian Aravind Adiga’s 2016 novel of the same name, Selection Day is “a coming-of-age drama about two brothers Radha and Manju Kumar who are raised by their strict, obsessive father to be star cricket players in India”. The show stars the likes of Mahesh Manjrekar (Vaastav, Kaante), Ratna Pathak Shah (Sarabhai vs Sarabhai), and Rajesh Tailang (Siddharth), while newcomers Yash Dholye and Mohammad Samad play the two brothers. It has been produced by Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network and London-based Seven Stories.

Here’s the full official synopsis for Selection Day from Netflix:

“Fourteen-year-old Manju is destined for cricket greatness. There’s only one problem, he hates cricket. Controlled from a young age by his overbearing and cricket-obsessed father, Manju’s main role in life is to support his older brother and fellow cricket star, Radha. When the family moves to Mumbai and the brothers start at a new school, Manju discovers his interests outside of cricket and starts slipping away from Radha and his father’s grasp. More importantly, Manju becomes friends with Radha’s greatest cricket rival, a boy who is the very definition of freedom and confidence — concepts Manju has never experienced himself.”

“With Selection Day, Netflix is once again bringing Indian talent onto the world stage,” Kapoor said in a prepared statement. “India is a land rich with stories and we can now share these across the globe. I can’t think of a better way of bringing people together.”

“When I read Aravind Adiga’s beautiful and brilliant book, I felt that this was a story that deserved a global stage,” producer Anand Tucker, who is co-founder and CEO of Seven Stories, said. “I hope audiences from Minnesota to Mombasa to Mumbai will all love this show. The fantastic creative partnership we have with Netflix has enabled us to bring this universal story of family, cricket and coming of age to thrilling life.”

“We are excited to share this joyous and emotional coming of age story with India and the world,” Netflix’s director of international originals Simran Sethi added. “Selection Day is an amazing opportunity to expand our array of programming after the exciting debuts of Sacred Games and Ghoul”.

This is the first Netflix original for Kapoor’s AKFC and Tucker’s Seven Stories. The former is known for producing movies such as Veere Di Wedding and Khoobsurat, while the latter was launched in September 2015 by Tucker and Sharon Maguire, with backing from All3Media.

For Netflix, Selection Day will be the fourth original series in total and for the year, after Sacred Games, Ghoul, and Little Things. It has also released multiple original films in 2018, including Love Per Square Foot, Lust Stories, Brij Mohan Amar Rahe, and the upcoming Rajma Chawal.
